Today has been one crazy day.
For starters I got my dental exam/check up this morning. Everything checks out except for one thing. The dentist says that "some day before you die, either within the next few months or years you will need a graft done". Basically my lower frenum (in my mouth - this tissue connects my lower lip to my lower gum line) will need to be replaced. According to him the procedure would require skin to be taken from the upper palate of my mouth and replaced where my frenum is now. Apparently this is called a frenectomy. So I looked up videos online and I must say that it looks awesome. I'm hoping whoever performs this operation on me will hook up a mirror so I can watch. :)
Secondly, I am nowhere near finished on my headband. I am about half way done because I've been so busy today. I also tried to start on the "MW knit-along" purse, but its way too complicated for me to figure out right now. I feel like I need more experience before I really try it. I have no idea what "sl 1 (k1p1k1)" means at this point in time. Basically I'm tripling the number of stitches I have..and its not working out for me.
Thirdly, around four in the afternoon I was absentmindedly petting my dog, Remi. She's had a ton of health problems recently and I have been worried about her ever since she began declining. She used to get staph and skin infections a lot. While petting her, I noticed a spot on her chest (about the size of my thumb) that looked remotely similar to the staph infections she used to get on her skin, yet I could tell this was something different. So what did I do?
I had a panic attack and called the vet in hysterics.
Luckily they were able to get me in for an E-appointment and I rushed over there immediately. Long story short, something cut Remi, we don't know what, when or how. So the vet put staples in and sent me on my way with antibiotics.
Also according to the vet, all her other issues are becoming increasingly minimized. The "bebe balls"/calcium build-up is lessening disappearing, her abdomen has softened again, her lipids in her eyes are looking better, and she's back to her old self. Apparently her back even looks better. So the only thing we need to watch for now is her wound and her thyroid (the latter of which will be a lifetime issue for her).
So happy she's finally getting better. Things are looking up *knock on wood*. And we go back in two weeks for staple removal.
