A new dishcloth

Another of my growing collection of dishcloths a "client"  (aka my mom) paid me to make for her.



This one, like most of my dishcloths are done in US size 6 needles.

CO 50 sts.  3 garter stitch border on each side, with a 1 stitch stockinette border on each side (only during the "holey"  stitch design).

I guess the design would look more like.
CO 50 sts.
Knit across 3 rows
K4, *K2tog, yo, repeat * to last 4 sts, K4
K3, purl to last 3, K3
K4, *skp, yo, repeat * to last 4 sts., K4
K3, purl to last 3, K3
K4, *K2tog, yo, repeat * to last 4 sts, K4
K3, purl to last 3, K3
K4, *skp, yo, repeat * to last 4 sts., K4
K3, purl to last 3, K3

Knit across
K3, Purl across to last 3, Knit 3

Begin waffle stitch
K3, *K2, P2, repeat * to last 3 sts. K3
K3, *K2, P2, repeat * to last 3 sts. K3
K3, *K2, P2, repeat * to last 3 sts. K3
K3, *K2, P2, repeat * to last 3 sts. K3
Knit across
K3, purl across to last 3, K3
(ribbing pattern)

**Repeat "waffle stitch pattern"  until dish rag is desired length finishing on WS.**

Knit 3 rows.
End with basic knit bind off on purl  (WS) side.
