Headbands and knitting.

So I decided to give up on the pink headband project for now. The yarn is just so tangled its unworkable. I should probably salvage what I can of that yarn ball and call the headband a loss.

But in better news, a Michael's just opened up in the next town over and I'm absolutely in love with it! I found the best yarn I've ever used there and got a few other things, including a candle for a dollar. While there I bought two skeins of yarn which I am absolutely enamored with. Its the best yarn I've ever worked with..or maybe its just that I'm slightly more experienced now than I used to be at knitting and yarn purchasing.

Anyways, in the past three days I've completed three headbands. One the day before yesterday, and two last night.

The first is a variation of the brown headband I'm modeling above, but in a green and white pattern which resembles camouflage. The other two were inspired by the "Mile-a-Minute" scarf which I found on Ravelry.com. Of course instead of making a scarf and the size 15 needles called for in the aforementioned pattern I decided to use size 8 needles with a 9 sts co. At the appropriate length, I combined both ends of the headband-to-be, finishing the project.

However, after that headband and trying to evenly connect both ends, I decided I much more like the i-cords used in all of the other headbands I had made instead of worrying about stretching and connecting the ends in the purely circular one. So on my latest headband project I created an i-cord, co. 9 sts. with the Mile-a-minute layout again and size 8 needles and finished the other side with an additional i-cord. I am extremely satisfied with this one and so far its my favorite.

Pictures of my finished projects to come later. :P
