Knitted MP3 player.

So I decided to  do some improvisation today and design a project and custom fit it to my MP3 player.  This is my first attempt at it so it does look kind of funky, but I'm still very pleased by the way it turned out.  I used size 8 needles and co 11 sts.  Then I used reverse stocking stitch (Purl across then knit across).  On the purl side I purled 1, yo 2, purled 1 to the end, and on the other side k1, slip 2 off, k1 across in order to get the "holey" look while keeping in line with the stocking stitch.  I ended up with three segments on each side and added some stocking stitch in between.  Then at the end I stocking stitched the flap until I felt it was the appropriate length, and added a button hole.  Seamed the edges together, flipped it RS out, sewed the button on, and viola.

Haven't decided if I like this layout enough to write an actual pattern for it.  The amount of segments  one uses and amount of rows of stocking stitch one decides to use would depend on the size of their electronic and how they want it laid out, etc. etc. etc.  That and mine ended up somewhat hazardously, though I am very happy with it and the fact that I designed it myself.

Now I can spend the rest of the day looking for more inspiration on tomorrow's project.
